The Interterritorial Conference on Rural Youth Formation as Multiplicators in Knowledge Management, Public Policies and Radio Communications, runs from Wednesday 24th to Friday 26th. The event is one of formation and will have the participation of 21 youth leaders guided by the organisations, Centro Sabiá, Caatinga and Diaconia. The event takes place in Triunfo, a town in the Pernambuco Brushland, and is part of a formation process organised by the three institutions with the support of the International co-operation agency, GTZ.
This first conference is the beginning of the formation of these young boys and girls whose role is to mobilize other boys and girls in their territories of origin so as to multiply the know-how discussed and acquired during this formation process. The focus for the discussion on knowledge management and public policies is the debate on climatic changes and combating desertification.
The idea is to contribute to preparing youth leaders who are active in rural areas to influence in the debate on climatic changes and combating desertification alongside public authorities and the public in general. For this reason, radio communication comes in as one of the instruments to be used by the boys and girls to put before the community in general the discussions that are going on and the works necessary and planned in resolving the problem.
